Description

The ancient city of Selge is one of the most impressive ancient cities in the entire Mediterranean region.

The city is located about.15 mil away from Alanya, and Turks most connect the area most with rafting
activities. But the city of Antik is further up the taurus mountain, approx.1250m. above sea level. The story goes 2600 years back, but only during
Alexander the Great received the city its heyday and became a rich and prosperous city. The city printed at that time its own gold coins. One thinks that here has lived about. 20000 people in 1200 century in the Byzantine period.
Its inhabitants had close contact with Aspendos via the Euromedon River and
ran extensive trade that created prosperity and wealth.
Here it is still possible to see the ancient antique theater, the royal house, and the ancient Roman bridge. The walls that surround the city are still quite impressive even today.

As we visit the different areas, we will get to hear more about the history from our Norwegian-speaking guide Mehmet Özdemir.
